Portland Puts RCV on Ballot

Last night the City Council for the City of Portland, Maine, Voted Unanimously to Place a Question on the March 3rd, 2020 Ballot to Expand Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) for City Council and School Board Elections.

Portland Voters Amended their City Charter in 2010 to Adopt RCV for Mayor, and used RCV in the past Three Mayoral Elections in 2011, 2015, and 2019, and in Statewide Elections Starting in 2018.

Portland Voters Report that the Voting System is Simple, Fair, and Easy.

Polling and Exit Surveys from Elections Indicate that Portland Voters Strongly Support the Expansion of RCV.
