New House Oversight Committee Chairman

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY, 12th District), my Representative and I carried her Petition over 12 years, formally Won the Gavel of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, becoming the First Woman to Chair the Powerful Panel that is at the Forefront of Investigations into the Trump Administration.

House Democrats had hoped to avoid a Messy Fight over the Chairmanship amid their Impeachment Inquiry and Ultimately Deferred to Seniority to Fill the Critical Post.

She won 133-86.

She Defeated Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA, 11th District).

The Position Opened with the Death of Elijah Cummings (D-MD, 7th District), the Former Chairman.
