GA Misses Deadline to Provide House Democrats with Voter Suppression Documents

Georgia has Missed its Deadline to Provide Documents for a House Oversight Committee Investigation into Voter Suppression.

Neither the Georgia Governor, Brian P. Kemp (R) nor Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger (R), Offices is Commenting on the Missed Deadline.

Kemp, who used his Previous Office as Secretary of State to Help Ensure his Election as Governor, Dismissed the Investigation as “Playing Politics.”

The House Oversight Committee’s Document Request included Information on the Tens of Thousands of Voter Registration Applications placed On Hold by the Secretary of State’s Office; the Fact that in “counties with significant minority populations, voters waited for hours to cast their ballots, even though hundreds of available voting machines sat unused in government warehouses”, and Voter Roll Purges.

"We have not yet received the documents we requested on alleged voter suppression in Georgia," according to a Statement from the House Oversight Committee.

"However, representatives of Georgia’s Governor, the Governor’s Office, and the Secretary of State’s Office have committed to fully cooperating with our inquiry in a timely way, and we expect them to abide by that commitment." the Statement continued.
