Ranked Choice Voting 2018 Update

With less than Two weeks until Election Day, People across the Country are talking about Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV).

Maine: RCV will be used for the in Congressional Races and Senate Race this November. Maine Voters Overturned the Actions of the State Legislature in June, Approving a People’s Veto that would allow RCV to be used in not just the Primary for All State and Non-Presidential Federal Elections, but for U.S. House and Senate General Elections. But the Citizens will have to wait for the Governor and State Legislative Races until 2021.

Memphis: Save IRV Memphis has mobilized to fight back against a City Council determined to Repeal Instant Runoff Voting or RCV. On the Ballot this November will be Three Referendums that the City Council themselves put there, to Repeal their Own Term Limits and Repeal RCV.

Today, Save IRV Memphis is in Court Suing the City Council for Funding a Repeal Campaign with Taxpayer Money. Activists with Save IRV Memphis are doing everything they can to Fight Back.

Canada: Shout out to all the hard work by Dave Meslin and other RCV Advocates in Canada. Voters in Kingston and Ontario backed RCV Ballot Measures for their respective City Elections in 2022.

London: City of London just held its First RCV Election and Elected its First Black Woman to the City Council.
