On August 9, Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker Signed HB 4834, An Act Automatically Registering Eligible Voters and Enhancing Safeguards against Fraud, which sets up Automatic Voter Registration in Massachusetts. Every Adult Citizen known by the State Government: Registry of Motor Vehicles or MassHealth the Medicaid program, will be Automatically Registered, unless he or she Declines.
The Law goes into effect on Jan. 1st, 2020.
An early estimate says 689,000 people could be added to the Rolls.
