CT Gov. Signs National Popular Vote Plan Bill

On May 24th, Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy Signed HB 5421, the National Popular Vote Plan Bill.

The National Popular Vote (NPV) Plan guarantees Election of the Presidential Candidate who receives the most Popular Votes in all 50 States and the District of Columbia. The NPV plan is a State Statute in the form of an Interstate Compact. When enough States with 270 Electoral Votes sign-on, the compact becomes Active. This does not replace the Electoral College.

It has been fully Enacted into Law in 11 States and D.C. controlling 172 Electoral Votes: CA, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, VT, and WA.
