After Questioning of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt at a Congressional Hearing, it was quickly apparent he is not doing his Job. Instead of protecting our environment, Pruitt is Wasting Taxpayer Funds on Himself and ignoring egregious Conflicts of Interest.
One example: After being Banned for Life from the Banking Industry and investing in $75,000 worth of Fossil Fuel Stocks, Pruitt hired his old friend Albert Kelly to overhaul the EPA's Cleanup of America's most Toxic, Contaminated Sites.
When, Scott Peters (D, CA-52nd District, San Diego), Questioned Pruitt about the Kelly Arrangements and other Apparent Conflicts of Interest, Pruitt refused to answer. Instead, Pruitt ducked and bobbed, treating Questions with Disdain while making Excuse after Excuse.
He even tried to Justify the Spending of Hundreds of Thousands of Taxpayer Dollars on Unnecessary Travel, a souped-up Armored Vehicle, Expanded Security Detail, and Office Costs, on every other Staff or Departments Personnel for their lack of Oversight.
His Gross Negligence at the EPA is doing Immense Harm to our Environment and the Public Trust in Government.
Five days after Peters Called for an Investigation into Kelly's Lack of Relevant Experience and potential Conflicts of Interest, he Resigned.
It was an Appalling Performance, not worthy of the Person entrusted with the Environmental Health and Safety of the American People.
We deserve far better from EPA Administrator Pruitt and his Associates.
