Trump and Family first Two Months of 2018 Conflict of Interest

During the 2016 Presidential Campaign, one of the biggest concerns raised by Voters was Trump’s Potential Conflicts of Interest involving his Family’s Business.

More than a year after the Election, those worries turned out to be Well Founded and often times not readily apparent to most Americans. Here’s are Five of the most recent instances where Trump is likely Violating some of the most Basic Government Ethics Rules.

- Last week, Donald Trump Jr. was in India, promoting the Trump Organization. During the Trip, Ads promised a Meeting with Trump Jr. if they invested $38,000 in the Trump Organization. And One Panel led by Trump Jr. was entitled, “Reshaping Indo-Pacific Ties: The New Era of Cooperation,” which sounds a bit too close to a Government Official’s words.

- The Trump Organization claims it Donates Profits from Foreign Governments to the U.S. Treasury, but it hasn't shared any Details.

- President Trump’s Re-Election Campaign has launched, and its Home is the Trump Tower in Manhattan. The Rent is $37,000 a Month, and the Republican National Committee (RNC) is paying the Bill.

One of the Leading Ethics Watchdogs in D.C., Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), has Charged the Trump Administration with accepting Monetary Gifts from Foreign Governments, which would be a clear Violation of the Foreign Emoluments Clause and the RNC Paying the Rent is a Violation of the U.S. States Emoluments Clause.

Also, some of CREW’s concerns revolve around Trump’s Business in Panama, which is now subject to an investigation by Panama’s Federal Prosecutors. The Majority Owner of the Trump International Hotel in Panama wants to Fire the Trump Organization, which has managed the Hotel since it opened in 2011. But the Trump Organization has Refused to Leave. Since that first confrontation, Police have been called multiple times to Referee disputes between Owner Orestes Fintiklis, who blames the Company’s Poor Management and Damaged Brand for the Hotel’s Declining Revenue, and the Trump Organization, which says it still has a Valid Contract to Manage the place. Offices have been Barricaded. Several yelling matches have broken out. The Power was briefly turned off, in a dispute over the building’s electronic equipment.

On Monday, Panama’s Federal Prosecutors said they had opened an Investigation into the Trump Organization, after Fintiklis complained that he had been Unlawfully Blocked from his own Property. With that, this bizarre standoff turned a theoretical concern about the Trump Administration, that, someday, the President’s Private Business might be Investigated by a Foreign Government, into a Reality. There are a number of Countries in Court with the Trump Organization with Bad Hotel and Condo deals that Failed and left the Partners with Bad Loans and the Condo Owners wanting their Deposits back.
