NC State Legislature Pass Bills for New Senate and House Districts

On August 30th, the North Carolina Legislature passed HB 927, which has New Districts for State House Seats.

On the afternoon of August 30th, the North Carolina Legislature passed SB 691, the Bill to Redistrict State Senate Districts.

Then the Legislature will take a Recess, and Reconvene in October 8th. According to Representative Bert Jones, SB 656 will be taken up at that time. That is the Bill greatly Improves Ballot Access. It has already Passed both Houses, but the Versions in each House differ.

When the General Assembly reconvenes, valid topics will include Election Bills, plus any Bills where there are differences between the Senate and House.

The Senate and House Maps will now be reviewed by the District Court.
