Russia is Recalling Ambassador at Center of Trump Campaign Controversy

The Kremlin has not confirm when U.S. Ambassador Sergey Kislyak would head back to Russia, but the US-Russia Business Council on July 11th will have a Going Away Party for Kislyak at the St. Regis Hotel.

Officials within the Trump Administration, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, have come under scrutiny in recent months over Undisclosed Meetings or Contacts they each had with Kislyak.

The FBI is Investigating whether those meetings were part of alleged Collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russian Agents seeking to Influence the 2016 Election.

One of the Key Questions surrounding Kislyak involves a meeting he had with Trump’s Son-in-Law in December. After the Meeting, Kislyak allegedly told Moscow that Kushner had requested a Secret Channel of Communications with the Kremlin, to be installed in the Russian Consulate.

Kislyak was also at the White House when Trump revealed Classified Information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in May.

Despite all this Controversy though, Kislyak has not shied away from the Public Eye in recent months and “has remained a prominent fixture in Washington’s diplomatic party circuit,”.

Russian Media has reported that Deputy Foreign Minister Anatoly Antonov has been Appointed as the New Ambassador to the United States but still has to be approved by Russia’s Parliament.
