The Centrist Project Update

Te Centrist Project aims to Reshape and Reform our Political System, not as a traditional Third Party, but as America’s first Un-Party. They are a 21st Century Grassroots Organization dedicated to organizing Centrist Americans, supporting Centrist Policies and encouraging more Independent Candidates to run for Public Office to put our Country ahead of any Political Faction in order to solve problems.

They want Independent Candidates to run for Office Unaffiliated with any Political Party. Our Centrist Election Engine provides prospective Candidates with access to the Tools, Training, and Talent they need to run Competitive Campaigns without traditional Party support. They seek Candidates of great Personal Integrity who are aligned with the Centrist Principles and approach to Governance.

The Centrist Project started in 2014 with two Senate Candidates:

- Larry Pressler (I-SD)
- Greg Orman (I-KS)

I became a Financial supporter in 2014.

Fulcrum Strategy

We are Leveraging our Supporter base and our Electoral Infrastructure to strategically Elect Candidates to closely divided Legislatures at a state and Federal level. In these Legislatures, like the U.S. Senate, just a handful of Independents, 3-5, can deny both Parties an outright Majority and exercise Disproportionate influence as a swing Coalition.

The Fulcrum Strategy is an Innovative, Tangible, and Achievable hack to our Political system that can make a Political Impact in a very short period of time.

Here’s why:

- We only need to elect a Handful of Candidates, and will use a data-Driven approach to Picking the states and Districts where they can be most viable.

- We will Overcome the inherent Advantages of Partisan Candidates by funneling Financial and Volunteer support from Centrists across the Country into our handful of campaigns.

- Our Candidates only need a Plurality of the Vote to win in a three-way Race, and Independent Voters alone comprise more than a Plurality of the Electorate.

The Centrist Project's "Hack the Senate" Strategy aims to break through Partisan gridlock by Electing a handful of Independent Candidates to the U.S. Senate.

This coalition would serve as a powerful Swing Vote to force Partisan extremists to Compromise and work toward Solutions.

I'm happy this blog is featuring news about the Centrist Project.

Note that the Centrist Project counts on the strategy of winning with a plurality, which is how almost all the independent governors won their elections during the last 40 years, in Alaska, Connecticut, Maine, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. That strategy doesn't work in top-two systems. So anyone who supports the Centrist Project ought rationally not to be working for top-two, yet top-two supporters are busy trying to get top-two in Florida and Alaska right now.

What is your thoughts on replacing Top-Two or Top-Any number, with Ranked-Choice Voting? Saving the voters from having to vote many times and the State and their Tax Payers the revenue they will Save.
