ICE Deporting Farm Workers

Last month, Immigration officers picked up five Apple Pickers who were carpooling to work in upstate New York.

They were sent to a nearby Buffalo Detention Center.

A Dairy Farm Worker and Prominent Labor Activist has been held for weeks.

These arrests are part of a growing trend that are striking fear into the hearts of the Immigrant Communities and the Agricultural sector.

With the most recent wave of arrests, Migrant Activists and outspoken Farmers are concerned that Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) will retaliate against those who dare speak out against harsh Anti-Immigration Policies. That's set to get worse after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Radical Crackdowns on Immigrants and their allies.

It's bad enough that Farm Workers lack the basic Workplace Protections and Labor Rights that most American workers enjoy. Many are exposed to Pesticides and Victimized by Wage Theft, and now they have to face the persistent Terror of Deportation.

A New York Farm Bureau spokesperson said that some Farm Workers are even afraid to leave the Farms on which they live and work.

This is no way to treat fellow human beings.
