NYC Council Hearing to Examine Trump Security's Impact

Having a President with a Primary residence in Midtown Manhattan could lead to long-term economic ramifications for New York City. A clearer understanding of these costs may influence planning not only by our Local Government, but also by the President-Elect himself.

That’s why on Jan 10th at 1:00pm, my City Council member Dan Garodnick (4th District), is Chairing a City Council Hearing, in Council Chambers, to examine the economic impact of President-Elect Trump’s Security on Local Midtown businesses and New York City as a whole.

We’ve heard how many small businesses in the shadow of Trump Tower have struggled after the Election. Dan wants to hear from you. How has the unprecedented Security apparatus impacted your life? Different route for your commute? Change in sales at your business?

Additionally, what questions do you have about the Security set-up? Want to know more about the costs? Or whether the Security area will grow after Inauguration?

Share your experiences and questions with Dan by going on Twitter and using #TrumpImpactNYC.

Members of the public are welcome to join at City Hall Chambers for the hearing and are invited to share up to two minutes of testimony on the matter. If you plan to testify, please sign up for a speaking slot as soon as you arrive at the hearing.

You can watch the live stream at THIS Link starting at 1pm tomorrow.
