One Organization Meets Its HIV-Free Goal

One year ago, ONE helped start a campaign to make sure all babies could be born HIV-Free.

That moms could get the treatment they need to fight AIDS and live long, healthy lives.

And more than 200,000 people from places all around the world joined with Them to say poverty is sexist and to ask Canada's Prime Minister Trudeau to make sure girls everywhere get the future they deserve.

And this past weekend, we made history.

On Saturday, ONE delivered all the names straight to Prime Minister Trudeau, and we found out that the Global Fund had just raised nearly 13 billion dollars to help fight AIDS, TB and Malaria for the next three years. That means up to 8 million more lives saved.

Today is a day to celebrate and say thanks. Especially to President Obama for his leadership in this fight.

We've been so impressed by all of your passion and support. It’s a great feeling to know that so many people committed so much to make this happen. You made our voices stronger. You made our message louder. And we shared our message with so many people. World leaders. Canadian ministers. Classmates at home. Even Prime Minister Trudeau and our leaders listened and acted.

I have been a member of ONE from their beginnings.
