Conservative Group Starts Website to Try to Sway Republican Policy

Heritage Action for America, a Conservative Advocacy group, has been quiet about the Presidential campaign for the past few months. That is about to change with the start of the Republican Convention in Cleveland.

The group is starting a new website, WhattoExpect2016.com, to lay down markers for what it sees as the true Conservative positions on major policy areas such as terrorism, border security and spending.

While the organization might be expected to find more fault with Hillary Clinton, Heritage Action has also been known to point out the perceived flaws in Trump’s positions, such as its differences with him over internet sales taxes and barring those on a no-fly list from buying guns.

Michael A. Needham, the Chief Executive of Heritage Action, said the group’s goal was “to ensure conservative policy is elevated, advanced and defended over the next three-plus months.”

He continued: “Many in the media have equated this election to a ‘Dumpster fire,’ but in reality, Americans’ frustration with Washington is on full display.”

The group intends to hold weekly calls with activists on the policy responses and to regularly brief the news media.
