Tell Congress You Want Voting Rights Act Restored

CPD Action, and their sister organization the Center for Popular Democracy, is building a rising movement of people fighting for a future of opportunity, equality, and inclusion. They are working on campaigns that promote a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda and to win victories to improve people’s lives.

When voters go to the polls this fall, it will be the first Presidential election in nearly 50 years without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act (VRA).

Since Shelby County, more than half of the states once covered under Section 5 have passed new restrictions on registration and voting, such as strict voter ID, cutting early voting and same day registration, reducing the number of polling locations, and making registration harder and more onerous.

Voting should be accessible to everyone. Millions of voters, especially people of color, younger voters, and non-native English speakers continue to be at the mercy of new voting restrictions until the VRA is restored.
