With the New York Primary on April 19, 2016, and the discussion about New York's Closed Primary and Party registration change date of October 9, 2015, I tried to make sense of the voter registration numbers.
This voter registration numbers come from the New York Board of Elections site and indicated Active Voters:
November 2015
Democrats = 5,281,640
Republicans = 2,541,267
Independents (Blank) = 2,261,268
April 2016
Democrats = 5,268,431
Republicans = 2,554,996
Independents (Blank) = 2,252,424
Change
Democrats = 12,709
Republicans = 13,729
Independents (Blank) = 8,844
Since the Democrat and Independent negative numbers are after the registration change date, where did they go?
Is the Republican increase of new voters, Trump voters?
