Senator Rand Paul Suspending His Presidential Campaign

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is suspending his Presidential campaign, Politico and CNN reported Wednesday.

"It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House. Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of Liberty," the Senator said in a statement on Wednesday, following his fifth place finish in the Iowa caucuses.

Paul said Wednesday he will focus on his home state of Kentucky, where he faces what could pose a difficult challenge from a prominent openly gay Democratic Mayor.

Kentucky does not allow a candidate to appear on the Primary ballot for more then one position. So he paid $450,000 to convince the Republican party to hold a Caucus for the Presidential race. Other candidates had to pay $15,000 to get into the Caucus. Then the Republican party had to hold fundraisers to pay for running this Caucus.
