Support Zephyr Teachout to Run for Congress

We have a chance to make a BIG impact in Congress this year. To do it we're joining with local activists in New York to convince Zephyr Teachout that she should run for Congress.

Zephyr Teachout is the Law Professor who ran against Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic Primary for Governor of New York. She challenged him on corruption issues and shocked political insiders when she won 35% of the vote.

She's a very progressive -- and very viable -- candidate. When she ran for Governor, Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig called her "the most important anti-corruption candidate in any race in America."

Now, local activists are pushing a new idea that has a lot of promise. How about drafting Zephyr Teachout to run for Congress?

New York’s Democratic 19th Congressional District has suddenly become an open seat. It's a district that Obama won by 6 points last cycle.

Zephyr has a long history as a progressive champion. She’s been at the front of fights against big corporate mergers that would hurt consumers and she's been a leading voice against campaign finance corruption.

And she would be a great ally for another professor we helped draft for Congress a few years ago, Senator Elizabeth Warren!

We can win this district, and Zephyr Teachout gives us a huge opportunity. But first we need to show Zephyr that she'll have the strong, grassroots support she'll need to win if she decides to run.
