Working Families Party Endorsing Bernie Sanders

From Dan Cantor, National Director of the Working Families Party:

The Working Families Party (WFP) is officially endorsing Bernie Sanders for President in the Democratic Party Primary, with the support of 87% of WFP members.

Their members overwhelmingly see him as a progressive who understands the problems our country faces and understands that it will take a "political revolution" to challenge the power of the big money crowd that puts greed above all other values.

In the 17 years since the birth of the WFP, they have never endorsed on a National level before.

WFP members in all 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands took part in the vote.

Because the party does not actually hold a primary, the endorsement does not come with a ballot line and is more symbolic than anything else. "It's meaningless from a legal or technical point of view," said Douglas Kellner, Co-Chair of the New York State Board of Elections.
