Today, I was invited to Politico's New York Playbook Lunch.
The event took place at the Bank of America Tower, 1 Bryant Park in New York City.
The event was moderated by Politico's Azi Paybarah who covers Manhattan, Jimmy Vielkind who covers Albany, and Mike Allen who covers D.C.
The first interview, moderated by Mike Allen and Azi Paybarah, was with Rep. Hakem Jeffries (D-NY). He represents the 8th Congressional District in New York, which encompasses large parts of Brooklyn and a section of Queens. Now serving his second term in the House of Representatives, he is a member of the Judiciary and the Education and the Workforce committees. He is also the whip of the Congressional Black Caucus. During the preceding Congress, he served on the House Judiciary Committee Task Force on Overcriminalization. He currently co-chairs the bipartisan Intellectual Property Caucus. Before his election to Congress, he served six years in the New York State assembly.

The second interview, moderated by Mike Allen and Jimmy Vielkind, was with Eric Schneiderman, the New York Attorney General. He was elected the 65th Attorney General of New York State on Nov. 2, 2010. He was won national recognition for his fight against crime and corruption on behalf of everyday New Yorkers who work hard and play by the rules. Before becoming Attorney General, he was a leading reformer in the State Senate. He previously worked as a public interest lawyer. He also spent 15 years in private practice at the firm of Kirkpatrick and Lockhart. He graduated from Amherst College in 1977 and Harvard Law School in 1982.
