For almost four months, ONE members, including myself, have been on a mission to get President Obama's attention.
Together, 69,352 petitions, sent 5,859 tweets, delivered 15,703 postcards, made 336 phone calls and held 112 lobby meetings.
And they noticed.
How do we know?
Because they told us.
So why were we making so much noise?
Because last week, leaders from around the world, including the US, met in Ethiopia to make some tough decisions on how to spend aid over the next 15 years. And we were pushing the US to announce that we'd start spending at least 50% of our aid on the world's poorest people.
The US did announce that they'd work to send more aid to the people and places that need it the most, but we're not at 50% yet, and they didn't set a date to reach that point.
So we've still got more to do to make sure our aid gets to the world's poor, and soon.
