New York holds a Special Election on May 5, 2015 for the 43rd Assembly District in Brooklyn.
The district is overwhelmingly Democratic but the Democratic nominee, Guillermo Philpotts, failed to submit his certificate of nomination of nomination by the deadline, so he is off the ballot.
On the ballot will be the independent Geoffrey Davis (Love Yourself Party), Diane Richardson (Working Family Party), Shirley Patterson (Independence Party), and Menachem Raitport (Republican).
The Republican is thought to have little chance.
So the 43rd Assembly District will have either a minor party or independent representing them.
