The Independent Party of Oregon has been paying for its primaries.
Oregon's law permits parties with 5% of the registration to nominate by primary at state expense.
As of February 2015, The Independent Party had reached 5%.
It will be the first Oregon party, other than the Republican and Democratic Parties, to have a government primary since the Progressive Party had one in 1914.
