Adolfo Carrión, Jr. served as the Bronx Borough President from 2002 to 2009. In 2010, the Obama Administration named him the 1st. Director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs and then the Regional Director for HUD's New York and New Jersey Regional Office. He left HUD in February 2012. The former Democrat, who dropped his party affiliation last year, is now running as the Independence Party’s nominee. The married father of four children lives on City Island in the Bronx.
