OH New Solar Farms

Oak Run Solar Project: Has been Approved in Ohio, and could be the Paradigm for similar Ones moving forward.

The Oak Run Solar Project on 6,000 acres in Madison County, will be able to serve the Grid with enough Electricity to Power 170,000 Homes.

What makes it Unique, is the concept of Agrivoltaics: integrating Agriculture with Solar Energy. Around 70% of the Project area, approximately 4,000 acres, will include Crops and Grazing Land.

As part of the Plan, a thousand Sheep will graze on the Oak Run property, and there will be 2,000 acres of Crops once the system Powers-Up.

The Project is estimated to generate $7.2 million in Tax Revenue Annually, and has a life span of 35 years. Notably, some of the Land being used is owned by Bill Gates, who has supported numerous Clean-Energy Projects.

Pickaway Solar Project: This $214 million Solar Farm will occupy about 1,375 acres within a larger 2,276-acre Tract in Deer Creek and Perry Townships near the Village of Williamsport.

Former Landfill Site Solar Farm: A New York-based Developer plans to Lease the Site of a former Landfill near Columbus, Ohio, to build a 50-megawatt Solar Farm.

This Project could begin generating enough Electricity for 5,000 average U.S. Homes as early as 20224.

Oak Run 800 Megawatt Solar Farm: Recently Approved, this Solar Energy Facility will be constructed in: Deercreek, Monroe, and Somerford, Townships.

It includes Transmission Lines and a 300-megawatt Battery Storage Site. The Project aims to address Climate Change while supporting Ohio’s Agriculture Practices and Yields.

These Solar Initiatives not Only Contribute to Cleaner Energy, but also demonstrate Innovative ways to Coexist with Agriculture.
