With Trump’s announcement he is once again running for President, Facebook has reminded its Third-Party Fact-Checking organizations, that it is Meta's Policy Not to Fact-Check Political Speech. But, this is Speech that needs to Most Fact Tracking.
Although Meta pays Third-Party Fact-Checking organizations to add various Labels to Content deemed to be Misinformation on their Platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, that does Not apply to ‘Political’ speech. ITherefore, Trump is free to tell as many steaming whoppers on Facebook as he likes, and Consumers of that Content will get No help from Zuckerberg’s Platform with respect to the Veracity of Statements and images Trump and other Politicians post there.
Trump is currently banned from Facebook, that 2-year Suspension of his Account is set to Expire in a few months, on Jan. 2023, and he is sure to Return.
The Washington Post tallied 30,573 Lies or Misstatements of Fact, by Trump during his 4 years in Office.
So it will require other Media Organizations tp provide the American People with a running list of Trump’s Misinformation between now and November of 2024.
