Companies NY Chose To Design And Build Its Pot Dispensaries

New York has selected 10 Teams of Construction and Architecture firms, to Design and Build its Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries. The Companies will develop about 150 Retail Locations across New York.

The State put out its Request for Proposals for Contractors to Design and Build the Stores in May, and Officials are still working to find Sites for them. They expect this process to last through 2023.

The Dispensaries will have to be at least 500 feet away from a School or 200 feet away from a House of Worship.

The State will Lease these Spaces from Private Landlords and then Sublease them to the Dispensary Owners.

The Teams that New York's Dormitory Authority awarded Bids to are:

- AOW Construction and Anderson Porter Design

- ES Development & Management and Method Architects

- Forte Construction, Goldman Copeland, and 2WR+Partners

- Grow America Builders and H2M Architects + Engineers

- LeChase Construction Services, Envision Architects, and LaBella Associates

- Murnane Building Contractors, BKA Architects, and Wolf Construction

- SEI Design Group and Bette & Cring

- A joint venture of Anderson Porter Design, Salt Construction Management, and WHL Plant known as SWAP Team

- Temeka Group, Schnackel Engineers, Quorum Architects, and CS Hudson

- The Pike Co. and SWBR

The State's Office of Cannabis Management, also recently released a New set of Rules for marijuana Retailers concerning what they can and cannot do once their Stores are Open.

These include a Ban: on selling Tobacco products, Food or Drinks without Cannabis, and Apparel or Merchandise containing a Brand other than that of the Owner of the Dispensary.

New York Officially Legalized Pot in March 2021, following the passage of the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act.

New Yorkers who had been Convicted of Marijuana-related Crimes in New York, will receive the First round of Approved Retail Licenses, part of the State's effort to use Marijuana Legalization to advance Social Equity.
