Tom Steyer Qualifies for Dem Presidential December Debate

Tom Steyer's Campaign says he has Qualified for the December Democratic Presidential Primary Debate, making the Billionaire Activist the Seventh Candidate to do so.

To Qualify, Candidates need to hit either 4% in Four Polls Approved by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) or 6% in Two Early Nominating State's Polls, and get Contributions from 200,000 Donors.

Steyer’s Campaign announced that he crossed the 200,000 Donor Threshold on Tuesday. He had already Achieved the requisite Number of Qualifying Polls.

Kamala Harris Suspends her Campaign on Dec. 3rd.

Steyer joins five other Candidates who have Qualified for the Debate: Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.

Candidates have until Dec. 12th to Qualify for the Debate Hosted by POLITICO and PBS NewsHour.

Candidates’ Qualification is Projected by POLITICO’s Tracking of Public Polling and Donor Information.

No Candidate’s Qualification is Official until Confirmed by the DNC after the Qualification Deadline has Passed.

The Debate is set for Dec. 19th in Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University and is the Sixth in the Series of 12 Planned Debates Sanctioned by the DNC.

The DNC has Not Announced how Candidates can Qualify for any of the Debates that will take place in the 2020, but Participation Thresholds are expected to Increase.

Two other Candidates are on the Precipice of Qualifying for the December Debate, Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang.

Yang and Gabbard each need One more Poll to Qualify for the Debate, as both say they have Crossed the Donor Threshold.

After Gabbard and Yang, No other Candidate is Close to Qualifying for the Next Debate.

Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, who Participated in the Fifth Debate in November, has Crossed the Donor Threshold but has Not hit 4% in any DNC-Approved Poll for the December Debate. His Campaign Released a Memo last week saying making the Debate Stage is its "top priority." Booker is the Only Candidate who Participated in the Fifth Debate who is Not close to making the Sixth Debate.
