MI Trump Fake Elector Deal With Charges Droped

A Michigan Republican, accused of participating in a Fake Elector Plot for Trump in 2020, has reached a Cooperation Deal with the State Attorney General’s office, leading to the Dismissal of All Criminal Charges against Him.

James Renner, 77, was One of 16 Republicans who acted as False Electors for Trump in 2020, despite President Biden winning the State by nearly 155,000 Votes. The Fake Electors met after the Election, and Signed a Document Falsely stating they were the State’s “duly elected and qualified electors”.

The Charges against Renner and the other 15 Defendants, including multiple counts of Forgery, were announced in July by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D). All 16 Pleaded Not Guilty, and faced up to 14 years in Prison if convicted.

The State Attorney General’s Office, stated that they Dismissed the Renner Case as part of a Cooperation Agreement. While they did Not provide further Details, Cooperation Agreements, usually involve Speaking to Investigators and, if needed, Testifying against Others.

The Dropped Charges come after Nessel told a Liberal Group during a Virtual event, that the False Electors had been “Brainwashed” and believed Trump won in Michigan. A Motion to Dismiss Charges against Two Defendants was Thrown-Out by an Ingham County District Court judge earlier this month.

The Details of the Cooperation Agreement were Not Disclosed, but such Agreements typically include talking to Investigators and, if necessary, Testifying against Others. The State Attorney General’s Office said they Dismissed the Renner Case under a Cooperation Agreement.

Renner was among the First to be Charged in the Fake Elector Scheme, which was Exposed by the Detroit Free Press in December 2020. The Newspaper obtained Copies of the Certificates sent to the National Archives by the Fake Electors, which bore a Seal that said “Great Seal of the United States of America” and had a picture of an Eagle with a Shield. That was concidered a Forgery.

Michael Banerian, Brian Jack Fairbrother, John Haggard, Jack Eugene Holmes, Kelly Mitchell, James Ritchard, Meshawn Maddock, Marian Sheridan, Robert Steele, Mary Vaughn, Colleen O’Brien, Kim Shmina, Daire Rendon, William Rauwerdink, and John Haggard Jr. are among the 15 Counterfeiting Electors still awaiting Prosecution. Legal Proceedings for this Group are set to continue on January 18th, 2024.
