NH Council OKs Special Session to Counter Wayfair Ruling

New Hampshire Lawmakers can attempt to make life difficult for other States seeking to impose Sales and Use Tax on Remote Transactions from In-State Businesses.

The Governor's Request for a Special Legislative Session to combat the U.S. Supreme Court's Wayfair Ruling on On-Line Sales Tax, which overturned the need for a Physical Location to Collect the Sales Tax, was Approved Wednesday.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu hopes to enact Legislation to Protect New Hampshire Businesses from other Jurisdictions' attempts to impose Sales and Use Tax after the U.S. Supreme Court's Wayfair Ruling. The State’s Executive Council voted 4-1 in Favor of a Special Legislative Session.
