NY Green Party Passed a New Platform

On May 20th, the New York State Committee and Rank-and-File Greens passed a new Platform. Among the changes:

- A call to make New York a Sanctuary State and New York City a Sanctuary City, with Local and State Law Enforcement refusing Cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Deporting Residents.

- Demanding an End to State Takeovers of Public Schools that undermine Democracy and Open the Doors to Privatization.

- Support for the NY Health Act to establish Single-Payer, Medicare-for-All Health Insurance for all of New York.

- An expanded vision for Cannabis Legalization and Abolishing the Prison-Industrial Complex.

The Green Party of New York’s Political Independence allows ordinary Citizens who are Registered Greens to participate in strengthening Their platform.

That’s just one reason why it is essential that they stay Financially Independent.

Greens say they cannot depend on Democrats nor Republicans to end Political Corruption and gridlock in New York.

As it stands, the Single-Payer Healthcare Bill that would insure almost 20 million New Yorkers is still sitting in the state Senate, awaiting Approval for the Third Year in a row.
