Common Cause's NY Grassroots Election Protection

New York voters deserve to be able to enter the voting booth without fear of intimidation, misinformation, obstruction, or lines too long to wait in.

Common Cause New York is working to break down these barriers, but they need your help.

Common Cause New York is part of a National Election Protection Campaign to ensure voters’ rights.

Volunteer poll monitors will be on the ground across the state and Country on Election Day, answering voters’ questions at polling places and reporting any barriers to the ballot box.

As a volunteer poll monitor, you’ll take a two-hour shift at a polling place in your Community. Before that, you’ll attend a 90-minute training where They will provide you all the information and tools you need on Election Day. As well s a cool Election Protection hat! They have already got training dates and times available in late October and early November, and will add more in the coming weeks.

Watch this video that provides an overview of the volunteer experience in New York in 2012, directly from volunteers themselves.
